Abstract

It has long been in Sun's history to support open environments, Java being a prime example. Sun has been actively involved in the GNOME community since 2000 and has deployed GNOME on its corporate desktop environment. Robert O'Dea talks about about Sun's involvement in the GNOME and other open source communities and why Sun Microsystems has committed so much of its core assets to the open-source software model.
